Frequently Asked Questions

Install FAQs

  • Does the install crew need to go inside even though my furnace is not inside (garage/crawl space/attic)?

Yes, to get to the thermostat and/or install a new thermostat, and check registers for proper airflow.

  • How long will I be without power?

We should be able to isolate the furnace/heat pump at the electrical panel, so the rest of your home is not interrupted.

  • How long will my installation take?

Each job is based on an estimated labor budget unique to the home and scope of work. Once your estimate is complete, your consultant can discuss this further.

  • Why do I need a mechanical permit?

Permits are a requirement of the State Building Code. As a licensed contractor, Hendrix Heating must pull permits for all jobs(and we do). This benefits the customer because it requires a post-install inspection is done to ensure all mechanical and electric work complies with current code/standards.

  • Do I have to wait to use my equipment until after the permit inspection?

No, your equipment will be up and running and you can use it between the installation and permit inspection.

  • What areas do you need access to during installation?

Your installation crew will need access to the following and the surrounding space: Equipment location, electrical panel, thermostat, return air grille, often the crawl access or attic access, and all registers inside the home.

Sales FAQ

  • How long will my estimate appointment take?

Most of the time you can expect it to take about 1 ½ to 2 hours.

  • Do I need to be home for the estimate appointment?

Yes. It is best if all decision-makers can be at the appointment to discuss specific priorities and available options with the estimator in person.

  • When will I receive my quote?

At the appointment! The majority of estimates can and will be created at the appointment and provided to the customer at that time. If additional information is needed, it may be emailed within the next business day.

  • I want a system that qualifies for rebates and tax credits

We have a variety of equipment options that qualify for rebates and incentives! Our estimators are knowledgeable about qualification requirements and will include any available incentives in your estimate.

  • I want to move forward with the install, what’s the next step?

Great! To schedule your installation date we need a few documents signed and a down payment or financing approval secured.
